Scuba Diving

SCUBA DIVE - MANUEL ANTONIO

The Manuel Antonio coastline with its 12 islands gives us the pick of over 15 different dive sites around the Manuel Antonio National Park.

Diving within the Manual Antonio National Park, just a stone’s throw from Quepos, the majority of the local dive sites are a maximum of 20 minutes from the port and we consider your experience, preferences and local conditions to guarantee your enjoyment. Most of the dives are between 35 and 60 feet, though there are deeper sites for more experienced divers.

All dives are guided by a PADI professional who has extensive knowledge and experience at the many dive sites so that you will see the most marine life and underwater formations.

Dives typically last 45 minutes and you will see volcanic rock formations, with various hard and soft corals. We have an abundant marine life with schools of Snapper and Jacks, plus White Tip Reef Sharks, Angel Fish, Moorish Idols, Parrot Fish, Puffer Fish, Octopus, Eels, Crustaceans, Sea Turtles and in season (Dec – May) the giant Manta Ray.

During your surface interval you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Manuel Antonio National Park Coastline.

Note: Due to our close proximity to two river mouths, our visibility can get affected locally by rains during the season so we advise you to check in with us for an update on our current conditions

SCUBA DIVE - CAÑO ISLAND

Thought by many to be the most beautiful diving and snorkelling in Costa Rica, Isla del Caño is situated in Drake Bay about 2 ½ hours to the south of Quepos by boat. If you love diving this is a “must do”

The trip is a full day trip and the boat departs from a nearby village because at this current time there are not running boat trips directly from Quepos. The village is located around 1 hour south of Quepos and we can either arrange transport there for you, or you can make your own way there.

From there you will travel approximately 1 – 1 ½ hours by boat to the island where you will either dive or snorkel 2 different sites as well as have lunch.

On your boat trip to the island, you can spot Pan Tropical Dolphins and Sea Turtles. During season you can also spot Humpback whales.

When you arrive, abundant resident sea life surrounds you, giant schools of pelagic fish, Barracuda, Trevally Jacks and Pompano, white tip reef sharks and rays, Visibility in this area often exceeds 80 feet.
